as most of you might know, i'm a psychology major... and despite the fact that i transferred here, i've completed the requirements for it in little time and now know that i can graduate as early as fall/winter next year. i've come to the realization that i have two paths to take at this point in my college life: 1) be really ambitious (suicidal) and take up chem as a double major, or 2) take the easy route and graduate early.
i have some problems with paying for another full year of school to fit everything and cramming ~2 years of chem classes into less than a year and a half, but i'm being convinced that it's also a good decision for the sake of my future after leaving this place.
chem/biochem might sound like a random choice but it's my preference. and i realize i can minor in it, but i'm not considering that an option unless someone has a good reason for me to. anyway, i respect you guys and would like some feedback as to whether or not it's a worthwhile decision. so please let me know. |

| i say go for it. it will be tough, but if you are interested and serious you will be the better for it in the long run. |

| do it. don't let money get in your way. you live with your parents right? take out a loan and work to offset the costs. There are also plenty of scholarships and crap out there that don't really have any requirements... albeit they come in 500 dollar increments. at the very least, those things are offered 4x a year. |

| I had a friend that decided to minor in chem after completing her ICAM major. she stuck around for another 2-3 quarters. |
