What music do you like? What genres? What bands/singers? Any guilty pleasures? Why?
Only rule: do not attack someone's choice in music. If there are genres or bands that you absolutely cannot stand then please supply your reasons.
This is not an elitist thread, it's to share and branch out!
Right now (for the past couple years) i've been going through a delta blues and indie folk binge. Why? I like the narratives of the songs and the feeling of Americana i get from them. Some of my favorite bands of this genre are Two Gallants (out of SF), O Death, and The Woes. Their sounds are fairly similar and range from old western dramatics to funeral dirges. |

I've never heard about them... I'll be sure to check them out!
Anyway, as some of you may know, I've made two "set" cds (one a compilation of the 106.7 best bands according to KROQ, and another based on VH1's top 100 90's songs). While I made these CDs I discovered a lot of bands which I liked but didn't know about since I didn't live in the U.S during the 90s.
So now that I've accustomed myself to alternative/rock and 90s stuff, I want to make a decent techno/dance/electronica cd.
Any Suggestions would be great! |

| a good entry level band to indie delta would be the White Stripes, even though they're more mountain influenced and play electric blues they're a great all around band. Also, I would also suggest Dylan and Cash as they carry similar themes and are the icons of so much of today's American sounds, from folk to rockabilly. |
