Sukiyaki Western DJANGO!!
if you're a fan of samurai films, westerns, miike or any combination theresoin then this is the film for you (me). it's a japanese film in english based on an italian film (Django) based on an italian film (a Fistful of Dollars) based on a japanese film (Yojimbo) influenced (Kurosawa) by italian films all set in an anachronistic feudal japan period with western getup. |

that's the second film. they were both okay if you like japanese cinema based on anime/manga. there is a standalone L spinoff coming soon to Japan too. |

So i am ambivalent. I like Jackie Chan. I like Jet Li. I like (love) kung fu movies. I am obsessed with Chinese mythology and fantasy. Journey to the West is one of my favorite stories. I thoroughly enjoy tales in which the main character is inexplicably transported to a completely alien environment and must adapt to their surroundings. I'm not actually sure if all of these things are going to work out together, though. |

monkey king!
choreography is by woo ping, that's a done deal. but i dont know about having a white guy being the main character...
i remember hearing somewhere that jackie chan said that this movie was geared towards american audience, and that chinese audience would be disappointed if they had any high expectations. |

While for certain I won't doubt Jet Li's kung fu ability... JC is a better and more versatile actor imo.
Plus Jackie can pass as white if you call him JC... no one will ever know... JL just sounds retarded. |

jet li is more humble and modest than jc. and in the movies, jet li is more badass than jackie.

| hey hey, how do you know jet li is more humble and modest than jackie chan?? i have PROOF that JC is a good man! see, he donates to charity...yes, CHARITY...we've talked about this yesterday haha. not just one either, multiple! and no, martial arts is not a joke, but JC manipulates his surroundings to maximize his kungfu in a more interesting way than jet li :D |

yes we did talk about this.
jackie's moral obligation is higher than an average person's simply because he is a celebrity and must put forth a good image of himself. im pretty sure all celebrities have donated to at least one charity. you have to prove that jet li has not donated in order to show that he is a lesser good man than jc.
and seriously, just look at jet's face when he smiles, that has to be a man of charisma and modesty. besides, jet is not a womanizer like jackie. :O |
