We all read them. There's no point in denying it. Anyway, here's looking for new ones, so while we all love pennyarcade, i don't think you need to post it...
But yeah... some good ones you might not know:

I've also got some girly comics, some slice-of-life comics, some overly "indie" stuff, some random fantasy adventure comics, and one comic that i have been reading religiously since the beginning and am still not quite sure whether it's supposed to be fantasy or freudian, and one about a mutant fish. And Wigu, of course.
Still. I subsist entirely off of webcomics. So MORE. |

I'd like to contribute more to the pile, but all I have are a bunch of sprite-based webcomics to which I owe my inspiration.
Bob and George is the supposed granddaddy of all sprite comics, and not a bad one either. The real gem here though, is a subcomic called MS Paint Masterpieces, which features possibly the best rendition of the megaman story I've ever seen. 194X is another sprite comic that I find amusing at best, but nothing stellar.
In terms of non-sprite comics, I've found Questionable Content to have its moments, and of course, you all should know Sluggy Freelance to have memorable characters and engaging storylines that feature them. Check out "Fire and Rain", "The Sluggite Koan", and the "That Which Redeems" series.

Not technically a webcomic, but pretty humorous

I'll be honest, i was not impressed with this until i got here.
Also, her her whimsical attitudes, lack of contractions and quirky manner of speaking make Faye feel alot like a brown-haired copy of Shelley Winters from Scarygoround. |

lowbright is quite teh awesome. i couldn't get the damaged.anime link to work. applegeeks reminds me of a mix between machall/megatokyo/all sorts of shiny-ness

So Mike, i was going around the website of T. Campbell, one of the most prominant writers of and about webcomics in existance (he's basically the Scott McCloud of webcomics) when i found out that that guest storyline in sluggy freelance that you were telling me about was written by him. Now i sort of want to go back and read all of sluggy freelance so that i can read that and have it make sense.
Anyway...
If you're interested, you should read Fans!, which is in my opinion his seminal work. During its run it was consistantly one of the most innovative, creative, and succesufully experimental webcomics out there. Hell, i'd even attatch that generalization to all webcomics ever.
For example, one my favorite story from Fans!, Thrown Switch is done completly in smilies. And it actually works really well, which is why i like it so much (To read this standalone, you need to know: Rumy has a thing for Rikk. Rikk is "married" to Alisin. Rikk has no idea Rumy has feelings for him. Tim is a total perv). |
