my friend's brother got in and is trying to decide if he wants to go or not. how is price center looking? is student parking still a hassle? what new facilities have been activated since 2006?

oh, and my sister is 95% certain that she is going to UCSD in the fall.

there's six new restaurants (yogurt, croûtons, etc) going into price center/ price center expansion, it's almost finished. there's a new music building by gilman, the Rady building is now up and running, they're closing summit and revelle plaza for construction or something and possibly foodworx, though nothing as been decided yet, they built a new parking structure by marshall and are currently rebuilding north parking, and theres a new student services building which has a pretty cool design.

um...that's all the building information i have.

parking has gone up about ~$50 since i was a freshman.. or more actually... though the new parking by marshall usually has empty spots at any given time..

summit is for sure gonna be under construction (heard from a friend who works there) and the new student center is old news now i guess.. the old student center is no longer under construction so no more detours. wendy's is gone, price center now has a small cafe with reading area plus a very UCSD merchandise centric wing..

that's all i can think of at the moment.

yeah, porter's is still there. the workers had a bit of a tiff with the new management- apparently there was conflict, but i think they've sorted it out by now.

food is more expensive in the dining halls, but i guess that's to be expected? the meal plans have increased appropriately. i think most of the dining halls now stay open much, much later, so that's a plus.

well if you don't have a car like me, it sucks.....but if your sister has a car then i guess it wouldn't be a problem.

ucsd also has an awesome taiko group, iono if you've heard of them before, but they're called asayake taiko and they're pretty kick ass. its probably worth coming to ucsd just for them. smile
